After a few weeks, here's the fantastic progress on the Aerogarden so far.
On Day 4, the Golden Harvest tomatoes sprouted:

On Day 5, the Red Harvest tomatoes sprouted and it was off to the races!
With this excellent progress, and with the fortunes of fate having put a second unit in my hands, I decided to plant a second garden on April 1 (not a belated April Fools Day joke!) and for the new garden I decided to plant 'Salad Greens' as fresh salad always sounds good and frankly, they were supposed to grow fast! So after setting it up, imagine my delight when on Day 2, they were already sprouting!

And so it became fun to see how quickly the two would grow. Unfortunately, I ran into a slight hiccup halfway through the race, as the water pump in the tomato garden stopped working. I found instructions for cleaning it on the AeroGarden web site and 20 minutes later, I had it back up and running!
So as of today, here's how the two gardens look:

And yes... I am also using the grow lights on the garden to incubate small grow pots of other seeds. It's working well! I just transplanted some good Strawberry seedlings to larger pots and as you can see, some pepper plants are starting to sprount in the pot on the right side! Woohoo! |
