Review of The Golden Compass
(or “I went all the way Bolvangar and all I got was this stupid movie.”)

“Talking polar bears? Magic Dust? Catholics? Is this thing working?”

As most all of you probably already know (how could you miss the stampede of the Catholic League?), The Golden Compass opened Friday December 7. For some reason, this is the crisis of the ages (according to them), despite the fact that the books have been out for years with little comment from the same groups that protest this movie.

Just a couple of wonderful teaser posters for some films we think most Geeks are looking forward to. We know we are!

A little disappointing that the collage style used for other Indy films isn't in play here, but this is only a teaser and hopefully the final film will have the usual style. From this teaser, this also looks kind of 'Temple of Doom'-ish, which would be disappointing to me personally, but I know that film is a favorite for many.

Either way, we're looking forward to these!
