Six String Samurai started out as the stuff that B-Movie legends are made of.The director/co-writer/costume designer/main character/stuntman and overall mastermind of this creation, Jeffrey Falcon, created S3 on a shoestring budget, with loads of friends and family members helping as the cast and crew.
While it got mixed reviews upon opening, there were many factors about this film that put it high on my list of favorite B-movies, not the least of which was the story itself…in an alternate history of the world, the Russians bombed the US in 1957, destroying most of the country, and leaving it’s troops scattered about to govern what was left of the area. However, rock and roll survived, as Elvis himself was proclaimed King, and ruled over the free city of Lost Vegas (which for some reason looks more like the Emerald City in this story than the neon jungle it is today). However, when Elvis dies, several rock & roll legends (or wannabe legends) are making their way towards the city, in hopes of becoming the next king.Unfortunately, Death and his band (heavy metal, of course) are stacking the odds in their favor by casually beheading or otherwise killing any competition along the way.Oh, and as if being trailed by death himself wasn’t stress enough, Buddy’s got this supposedly mute orphan kid (Justin McGuire) following him about and whining, like some post-apocalyptic Oliver Twist. Not being much of a people person, especially the short adolescent people you have to continually rescue and care for, Buddy tries to distance himself from The Kid, only to find out that there’s more to the little scamp than meets the eye (and like it or not, he’s starting to grow on him).
"Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma on July 2, 1982. She grew up and began modeling in Tokyo, Japan, where the military assigned her stepfather. Munn moved back to the United States in 2004, where she interned at Fox Sports Net and worked as a sideline reporter. Munn had several small roles in TV and film, appearing in Scarecrow Gone Wild, and Road to Canyon Lake. After her internship at Fox Sports Net, Munn moved on to the G4 network, where she is best known for co-hosting Attack of the Show. Munn began co-hosting Attack of the Show on April 10, 2006 as the announced replacement for Sarah Lane, who left the show along with Brendan Moran to get married. Alongside working on Attack of the Show, Munn hosts Formula D, a program about American drift racing. Munn also played in eight episodes over two seasons of the TV drama Beyond the Break on The N network."
Due to some recent issues with the site, we have had to make some changes in preparation for upgrades, a new look and feel, etc. As the webmaster, I can only move so fast as I have cancer and my chemotherapy wears me out and takes away a lot of time from my day. I hadn't actually planned on even trying to tackle this for a few months but site slowness and some other buggy issues with registration are forcing me to move on what I can earlier. As such, the following changes are currently in place:
The main site and the forums are disconnected. The main site no longer uses logins for anyone but staff and does not accept new user registrations. The only part of the site that requires a login is now the forum. As such, you will only need to register at the forum if you are new.
Because the main site no longer has 'members' there is no longer any personal messaging, 'friending', commenting on articles or individual profiles available through the main site. Personal messaging and profiles are available through the forums and we encourage discussion of articles there.
Other minor functions of the main site have been disabled.
The next step will be to upgrade the main site and the forums. I do not know yet when this will occur. In the meantime, if you encounter any issues, please let me know by way of forum personal message. Thank you!
